CUT OFF NO ASSIGN what is wrong with the keyboard?

When you move a slider or knob the display shows its current assigned value. Each slider and knob can do two things simultaneously. So if it says:
Cutoff
No Assign

That means that it is assigned to control Filter Cutoff and nothing else. If it is displaying this and he's not physically moving a slider or knob then there could be a problem.
